Louis E. Eliasberg, a Baltimore banker assembled the single greatest collection to date, no other collection, while amazing in their own right will ever surpass what Louis Eliasberg put together.

The Eliasberg collection was so grand that it’s really hard to comprehend how one person could have done what he did.  The Eliasberg collection was comprised of “Every U.S. Coin” ever minted from every mint.  In other words he had a complete U.S. Coin collection.

His collection was completed in the 1940’s and it is said he spent around $500,000 in total to assemble the collection which sold in 1996 and 1997 for an estimated $45 million.
